Office Hours
Our office is open for
appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Our
telephone switch board closes daily at 4:30 pm.
Appointments
All patients are seen on a scheduled appointment basis. We ask that
you provide a minimum of 24 hours notice when you need to cancel an
appointment. Deliveries, urgent surgeries and emergencies occasionally
require us to reschedule your appointment. When you make an
appointment, please provide home and work phone numbers, so you may be
reached, if necessary to reschedule. Please feel free to call us prior
to leaving for your appointment to determine any delays. You do not
need a formal appointment for injections (such as Depo-Provera and Rhogam) or
for blood procurement, but please call ahead to get an estimate of expected
wait time.
Payment Policies
For your convenience, we accept cash,
personal checks, MasterCard and Visa.
Patients who are self-pay or are insured through a company of which we do not participate are required to pay in full at the time of service. All co pays are also required at the time of service. If the required payment is not made at the time of service. a $10 billing fee will be charged to your account. If payment is received prior to the first billing cycle, the billing fee will be adjusted. Payments that do not clear the bank and or are not credited to our account for any reason will be charged a processing fee of $3.00 and a bank fee of $40.00.
Obstetrical patients are required to pay in full by her 28th week of pregnancy any part of our fee determined to be patient responsibility by your insurance company. You must notify our office immediately of any changes in insurance coverage that occurs during the pregnancy. Questions should be directed to our billing office.
Certain procedures, such as IUDs and Depo-Provera injections require insurance preauthorization. For IUD insertions, we request payment for the device at the time of insertion. You will be reimbursed this amount if the device payment is received from your insurer. If we are in network and if the insertion is a covered service, we will bill this fee directly to your insurance company Please contact your individual insurance carrier to verify your benefits.
We have "opted out" of the Medicare program. This is different from being "non-participating." Medicare requires that any person receiving medical care from our office sign a contract. See Medicare Beneficiary Private Contract.
Please feel free to contact our billing office or our office manager for fee schedules, concerns, problems or difficulty with payment. We will do our best to come to mutually satisfactory payment plans that will allow us to provide uninterrupted medical care.
Laboratory Services
For your convenience, we are pleased to be
able to offer you on site blood procurement. At the present time, Anne
Arundel Medical Center is our laboratory of record. If your insurance company requires
that you use another lab, you must inform us, prior to leaving our office, or
laboratory services will be billed directly to you.
Phone Calls Please call during regular office hours for all medical needs including appointments, prescriptions and lab results. In order to serve your medical needs in a timely manner, you must be prepared to leave a detailed message. For all prescription refills, we will need medication name and dose, pharmacy FAX number and known allergies. Allow at least 3 business days for your request to be filled.
For calls outside of usual business hours, a Doctor is on call for emergencies only. For consultations other than immediate postoperative issues or obstetrical questions, you will be directly billed a $35 consultation fee for after-hour medical advise and treatment which is not reimbursable by your insurance.
Your Medical Records Your medical records will be copied and forwarded with your signed request. Unless otherwise specified, we will copy the last 3 years of your records. There is a fee for this service, according to the volume of your records. Please allow at least two weeks for your request to be processed after we have received payment for this service.
Completion of Forms For disability verification, Women ObGyn has a standard form that we will complete for you at no charge. We charge a fee to complete all other forms. Please check with our billing office for these fees.
